Hi! I’m Harrison,

I’m an eco-builder, author and broadcaster with over 15 years of experience designing and building homes - conventional, sustainable and alternative - all around the world.

In recent years, I co-founded Common Knowledge, a non-profit social enterprise in the west of Ireland, to help people develop the skills and confidence to live more sustainably. We teach everything from home building and DIY to growing food, making furniture, and mending clothes - real, practical skills that help people feel capable and connected.

My first book, Build Your Own, is a guide for anyone thinking about building a home - or rebuilding their sense of agency. My second book, Our Homes, explores inspiring, practical responses to the housing crisis - rooted not in a single solution, but in a diversity of approaches.

I also present Build Your Own Home on RTÉ, a TV series where I work with everyday people across Ireland as they take on the challenge of building the homes they need, with the budgets they’ve got.

More than anything, my work is about helping people believe in their ability to learn new things - to do things they didn’t think they could. I believe that when people feel capable within themselves, the future feels a lot less intimidating.
