Harrison teaches both alternative and conventional building techniques and processes through theoretical discussion and hands on experience. He regularly teaches large international student groups through the Earthship Academy as well as educating and empowering local communities through various humanitarian builds. He has delivered lectures in the University College Cork Architecture Department and given sustainability talks at Body & Soul Festival and Another Love Story's events at Killyon Manor, Ireland.

Course Dates:

Sept 12th - 17th 2019

Location: Ennistymon area, County Clare, Ireland. 

Cost: €600. Includes 6 days of theoretical and practical tuition, tools, materials and 3 daily meals.

Capacity : 20 students.

Description: An introductory workshop for beginners to building on the beautiful West coast of Ireland. We will build a large lean-to greenhouse onto an existing building, whilst covering all the essential elements of how to build a structure and what must be considered when choosing materials, from foundations to finishes.

This course is designed for those new to the building community and looking to attain a basic grasp of construction design, technique and  possibilities. I’ll also be teaching how to using basic power and hand tools. We will work hard and have a lot of fun. There will be time for discussing your own personal building dreams and projects throughout the week.

We will start each day with a two hour theory discussion, followed by hands-on, practical work in the afternoons. Three delicious daily meals, coffee and tea will be provided.

Please note that accommodation and transport are not included but we are happy to suggest a number of AirBnb / Hostel and car hire options in the area.
